I'm italian too.For payments I've used Mollie, which is EU based and has good DX. It also has something critical that Stripe does not: proper customer service. Adyen is also good. You're a bit generic on other fronts but Scaleway is an excellent EU-based cloud provider. Haven't mi...

While deploying simple functions to Scaleway is quite easy, including any packages that depend on platform-specific wheels can become a headache; the Scaleway log messages are not very helpful, either. This small example showcases how to solve the platform-specific wheel build is...

Yup, I signed last weekend, they asked me for a passport and I deleted the account immediately. Scaleway also asks for ID. I am gonna try OVH next.

Problem with Scaleway (for me) is physics. I get 200ms (at minimum) roundtrip latency to any of their EU servers (and for their dedicated offerings that can boot custom Linux distros that's pretty much all I have access to).

This. I'm presently running serverless containers, serverless jobs, managed container registry, managed database, virtual private network, IAM policies, DNS, managed Grafana and object storage on Scaleway for a project I'm working on. Doesn't get more cloud than that.Sure, Scalew...

Public discussion around Scaleway over the observed multi-week window was moderate in volume and notably stable in overall tone, though the score trajectory tells a more turbulent story beneath that surface calm. Commenters most frequently reached for competitor comparisons, which dominated both the praise and complaint sides of conversation. This dual role made competitor-comparison the defining lens through which Scaleway was evaluated, with some commenters positioning it favorably against alternatives on grounds like environmental footprint, regional identity, and pricing history, while others framed it as just another provider likely to follow the same pattern of price increases.

Sentiment showed a sharp early dip after a relatively strong opening week, falling through mid-April before partially recovering. That recovery held loosely through late May and into early July, suggesting the conversation settled into a cautious but not hostile register after an initial wave of more critical discussion. The heaviest mention volume arrived in mid-May, which coincided with a score that remained just below the overall average, implying that broader engagement did not translate into warmer sentiment.

Feature praise and reliability drew some positive mentions, though neither theme generated strong enthusiasm in the sampled discussion. Commenters who praised specific capabilities tended to do so in passing rather than with advocacy. On the complaint side, learning curve frustrations surfaced alongside pricing concerns, with at least one detailed mention describing deployment friction around platform-specific dependencies and unhelpful log output as a real friction point.

Opinion was most divided on whether Scaleway represents a genuinely differentiated option or simply a regional variant of a familiar cloud provider story. The identity verification requirement drew pointed criticism in at least one mention, with a commenter citing it as a dealbreaker. Anticipation around future hardware offerings generated some curiosity, though discussion suggested that remained speculative rather than a settled positive.
